About

MISSION

To build a multi-generational coalition of Black Women of the African diaspora to amplify the voices and give priority to our issues and community. Pursuing Black and African Women’s political power both at the ballot box as voters and on the ballot as candidates.


We will provide a welcome space for Black women and allies to contribute to the advancement of Black women in the Democratic Party; to support local, State, and National platforms that seek to address issues affecting Black women, and to encourage its members in the development of leadership among themselves.


By continuing to lead the fight to eliminate barriers to civic participation, our coalition will promote greater social and economic justice to enhance the quality of Black lives.

VISION

BAWR envisions a nation in which all Black women, have the tools to participate fully in the democratic process at the local, state, national and global levels.

OUR STORY

BAWR is applying to be chartered by the San Diego County Democratic Party on Tuesday, January 18th, 2022.
